Grits

Most excellent with sausage or garlic shrimp. Ratio is 1 part grits to 4 parts liquid. You can also add a few oz. of cheddar cheese, but I think that makes it a little too rich.

Do whatever you want.

Ingredients

1 cup grits / cornmeal
2 cup milk
2 cup chicken stock
4 Tbs unsalted butter
1 oz parmesan cheese
2 tsp black pepper
1.5 tsp salt / to taste

Directions

Get liquid to a boil and slowly whisk in grits and salt. Cover on low heat for 20 minutes, whisking every few minutes until creamy.

Remove heat, mix in pepper and butter until melted, then slowly whisk in the cheese. Enjoy!
